Yeah, well sorry that I was too unhappy with the Qetesh drydock to send over a copy
I think though I'll need to ask Kazam if he still has the .pof, since I think I might have lost it with my last format.
The Karnak is great, except that it needs to playing with the module pylons Dark also did for it to keep it from looking like DS:9. (unfortunately at the time I sort of wanted that look for it
)
Vasudans lacking contractions in the translation is logical, same with the desert sayings as long as it's not too melodramatic. (Things like "Peace desert walker" are just too... well cliche' cheesy sci-fi attempt at an alien race being different)
How Volition has handled the Vasudans so far is pretty much not trying to give them too much culture at once, little things shown like ships built after symbols is a nice thing, but not preaching about "Vasuda life" or giving them a "language" like done with ST's Klingons.
Pretty much as case of keep it simple, stupid, to avoid the threat of all campaigns going heavy with character-driven plot-Melodramatics.

Yeah, I don't like the DS9 look, so I made the longer winding pylon rather than something round. I think that it looks okay, though it's a bit odd....
As far as desert sayings go, I can only think of one or two that I can steal from Homeworld. That had some nice expressions in the manual...other than that, I think you're right Ace - keep it simple.

Well the winding pylons doesn't work thanks to the reactor connectors.
If you have the Vasudan pylon model (it's not a Karnak letter piece) then you can build more "support arms" or a further frame to keep out the DS9 look.
If you don't have that pylon, I can ICQ it or E-Mail it over, play arround with the pylons on the full Karnak and you'll be amazed at what you can do...

If you could email me it, I would be grateful. I need a very impressive Vasudan installation for the final mission of BWO - or rather, one of the final missions...

If you're looking for some desert-based expressions, look to the Dune series and the pair of books by Stephen Lawhead, Dome something or other...

Sent over the stuff.
Yeah, I forgot that Dune would be a good source for that sort of thing. (That or get Sandwich into a conversation on the metaphysical! j/k

The type of Vasudan speech you here depends on the phase of the Vasudan calander, the situation of the speaker relative to the emperor, which one of the thousands of dialects and several alphabets is being used, and, of course, the castes of the speakers. This is all in the database, remember? So one could conceivably construct many variations of the same conversation.

Hmm, complimentary.
I think he had some RL trouble, and his ICQ and intenet access is rather dodgy. But he is still around, modelling and texturing for a few people (hint) and working away on Arsenal of Darkness...

LOL...
So we have "Martyrs of [Vasuda]!", and the other Homeworld sayings, if I can remember them. Ah yes; "I can smell the sea!" as an epiphet for courage and keeping going, and stuff like that.

Well since Vasuda is lacking most surface water, I'd think that "I can smell the sea!" is sort of "That's weird!" or "I have a very bad feeling about this..."
