Computer piloting would not be sufficiently adavanced to get past the enemy fighters and main Sharlin beams. You need the unpredictability of a human pilot to manage it.......

.....unless you send dozens of Starfuries with nukes in

Playing B5W I have nearly taken out a Sharlin by lining up straight with it's aft/stbd side (ea has crappy weapons arcs), powering down engines and rear weapons, and firing all my in arc laser/pulse arrays on laser for 2 sustained turns. I got good roles and all the beams hit for both turns, totaly destroying that side of the ship while I lost my forward section to the Sharlin's fire and Nials. I launced my fighters (all expert pilots) and jumped the Nova out. I had my 'furys ignore the Nials and fly straight into the Sharlins exposed super structure. They destroyed all the Sharlins weapons still in arc and did considerable damage to the Sharlin's primary section before being destroyed by Nials.

However, in B5W we all know that the ships have been balanced somewhat so that they are more competative with each other (including the First Ones). The Minbari weapons are vastly underpowered relative to EA weapons for playability's sake.
