We've taken alot of heat for being the "big campaign" on the block sort of thing. Attracting all of the attention and whatnot. We just announced our campaign. We aren't trying to steal anyones fame or anything of the sort.

I'm sure the good campaigns will get the credit and recognition that they deserve.

Well, you are... I think BWO, MT and Inferno are probably the the biggest campaigns, . I like to think what I'm working on can be considered as close to that level, but only time will tell....
There's opbviously still a big place for small campaigns... i'm planning on doing 1/2 ones myself, to use with the VP files for Reciprocity (mainly to brush up on my FREDing ). And a short story can be better than an epic, if done well.

It is kind of a shame, though, that there are several top-notch campaigns like MT, BWO, OtT, etc being made, and their new mods, etc, might not be seen in other missions outside of that campaign.

It would be nice to see a point where people can make 'add-on' campaigns to something like BWO or whatever using the modding made previously - somewhat akin to what's going on with the B5 project already.

Not sure what your policy on that would be, because obviously there are certain storyline issues you'd want to take care of, but I'd want to try and encourage that, if only to get a bit more longevity.

I'm willing to bet that the Golgotha will see its way into other peoples campaigns when were done.

I'm not talking bout just the Apoc, Golgothah in seperate campaigns, I mean people willing to take the whole mod pack and build onto the story and the universe within.

I think that would be pretty cool.

I would love to see people doing add-on campaigns to BWO, dealing with the various issues that we throw up. None of us really have the time to make all of the bits and bobs we want to, so it would be excellent if we could flesh out the universe some more through other user-made additions.

That said, I've been thinking about a sequel to BWO since BWO was just an idea.

There are some technical problems that we've made for ourselves in the creation of BWO that make a sequel difficult, though (we removed the Shivans, in other words. We can't put them back in without sacrificing some of the ships we made).

As far as releasing the MODs we have for use by other in non-BWO campaigns, the Golgotha and the Charon should be popping up all over the place. I'll leave it to the discretion of the individual modelers about what they want to do with the models post-BWO regarding release, and thus duck a serious issue.

True enough, but its always possible to write some ships out for one reason or another. Volition wrote the Banshee out (its called the Prometheus R), the Avenger and Flail (expensive) and so on.

I don't think that you'll have to worry about no one using the mods Kellan, since MT is already using the Charon

IceFire's mentioning of "writing out weapons" is something I've already had to do. A lot of ships and weapons in my own project are either not commonly fielded or only a handful exist/prototype.

In FS2 we don't see a great deal of Vasudan technology, which is why having the PC (Player Character) in a "Terran-Vasudan" squadron works so well since you get to see techs not in FS2 that already existed.

Many ships in FS2 however seem like they are not required or need major overhauls. A few like the Myrmidon clearly stand out since they are a definate next-generation fighter. (space superiority in this instance)

But if you go 10-20 years into the future, you need to re-write a few things, mix things up a bit.

Mind you, quite a few ships from 32 years before FS2 are still there in FS2.

The Herc, Ulysses, and so on were quite good right up until 31 years ago when they decided to replace them.

That's true when you go a few decades ahead, and the Herc/Ulysses were aging. (even during Operation Templar they were slightly outdated and outclassed)

Ships like the Herc2, though not liked by some, do work well as replacements. (also, in FS2 we don't know when the Herc 2 and Myrmidon went into service, same with most of the other ships, so more then likely they weren't all put into service at Day 6 of year 31 )

Some of the Vasudan bombers, and Terran bombers could have used more R&D time or further efits on the older designs. (take the Ursa hull for instance, it's a small capital ship, it's powerplant for all intents and purposes could power a shield fit for a cruiser by the time FS2 hits)

Hehehe - turns out that I'm doing what is essentially a prequel to that FS3 storyline concept talked about on the VBB and HLPBB... So I'm essentially making an add-on to something that hasn't even been created, and probably never will.

Smile

Well, I'll be definitly one of the good people that will use the Golgoth in a campaign, although with new texturing and using MY weaponry, if that's ok with you I mean

Also, about the GTVA evolving, I'm sure that you won't fail us

If you guys want some coool looking weapons, I'm your man

BTW, doesn't any nice guy wants to skin my Herc III?? The model kicks a$$!!!
