Thats German...

all the interface code is game specific, so the 'Nachricht' text will be replaced by 'Message'

Whee!

See, i don't even know what finnish or german looks like, but that's cool with me, BTW, Sweet screenies dude, pity my venerable (or pitiful take your pick) voodoo3 won't be able to support the high-res textures

Ahh~ I love that German!

I always play games in German if its offered.

Last time I played ST:Voyager Elite Force in German.

Pretty funny experience, since I've never seen a episold
of Voyager in German.....

Man... and I lived there for three years!

Well... the german EF version had right from the beginning the same voice for Seven as in the german version of the series... So for us the original EF was even better than the english one.

And all other characters had the correct voices as well... Just like in the english version.

About TBP: I will have that kind of mixed language when I play it, too... that's funny, but it's allready the same with english custom fs2 mission. I'm used to it...

On the contrary, my Voodoo3 PCI easily handled FS2 in 1024x768x16bit color, with detail levels set to as high as they could possibly go. I'm thinking that you mean the voodoo3 can't do 32-bit textures. I tested with 16 and 32 bit textures on my Geforce2 MX and really I couldn't tell much of a difference (minus the chug factor)

Posted by Slasher on 10-09-2001 02:51 AM:

Actually, I think the Voodoo3 can't support textures greater than 256x256 in size (or something like that). Since the texture size specified on the news page is likely greater than anything the V3 can handle, owners of those boards are probably outta luck in regards to that.

[edit] Forgot to mention that those screenshots look great! BTW, about a dozen or so aren't showing up. Botched links, perhaps?[/edit]

Slasher - your net connect, they all show for me.

And Voodoo3s, IIRC, do "22-bit" texturing, then dither down to 16-bit or something like that...hell if I remember. I think V3s will be able to handle this no problem.

Well, I guess I'll just have to test it when I get it, although I thought the V3 could do 256x256 textures...didn't cause trouble in Unreal Tournament when I'm runnin around with 512x512 textures at 1024x768. 'Course this was UT, and I haven't a clue as to how the FS2 engine'll handle all that.

BTW, Internet Exploder stops queuing images for download if they aren't started in about 2 minutes or so. It's just giving up because it's not getting data fed to it.

And I commend the moderators and administrators with their implementation of the 60-second lock that saved me from a mariginally humiliating double-post.

Enough bickering; finish this TC!!!!!

Posted by Slasher on 10-09-2001 03:07 AM:

Awww, I see the light. Literally.

And I hope you're right and I'm dead wrong about the V3 thing. I've got a Voodoo3 3000 PCI and I don't wanna be left out of the high-res stuff.

Posted by JC Denton on 10-09-2001 03:10 AM:

Well, I'm probably going to have to get a new motherboard with 4x AGP just so my Geforce2 MX doesn't freak when I run anything greater than 640x480 resolution. Damn, 1x AGP sux!!!

Posted by Slasher on 10-09-2001 03:16 AM:

Post

Either way, I'm sure the graphics will look great. I'll find some way to see the TC in all it's glory. Somehow.

And whats "Murdock" mean, anyways?

[edit]Hmmm, now that I think of it, 256x256 does seem kind of small. The tex limit may actually be 512x512 after all.[/edit]

Posted by Londo Molari on 10-09-2001 03:42 AM:

I have a TNT2, but how come when I detect video settings, i only get offered:

640x480
640x480 32-bit

why cant I run the game at 1024x768 ?!?

Question Battle of the Line questions

Mollari, you probably didn't install the high-res artwork.

I noticed a number of screens depicting the Battle of the Line. From what I gather, you've got at least two mission recreating that mammoth engagement. My question is one of gameplay and balance. Does the fate of Earth really hang in the balance, or are you staying canon? And if you aren't, do the Minbari ships actually attack Earth (you see their beams firing) or do you fail the mission(s) by not defending the EF ships adaquately enough?

Of course we have wrote own Credits.tbl. There are every designer, voiceactor, pets, Shadows and supporters in the credits...

D/L size is going to be somewhat on 90-120 megs?

And last. Slasher, Voodoo 3 should support 512x512 textures...

That's all for now...

Sorry... but I'm not the wise one...

But then again, my Voodoo 2 card does support 512x512 size textures with Creative Reference Drivers.

So if Voodoo 3 doesn't support 512x512 textures then that doesn't make any sense...

Think I need to go to English lesson now...

The Creative's drivers (and the same with WickedGL of Half-life) use a trick to "simulate" 512x512 textures on Voodoo2. It isn't genuine hardware support, thus very slow.
