The english system just doesn't make sense:

In the metric system, 10 milimeters = 1 centimeter. 10 centimeters = 1 decimeter. 10 decimeters = 1 meter. 1000 meters = 1kilometer.

In the english system, 12 inches = 1 foot. 3 feet = 1 yard. 1760 yards (?!?!!??!) = 1 mile.

I'm english and really hate old imperial measurements. The only time i have to use them is in distance but only miles, i have no idea how long a foot or yard is and don't really care. Most people under 25 use new metric measurements and most like me have the old english(Imperiual) measurements.
