Yeah, FS2 just can't handle 9000 polys. Not on one model anyways.

The Golgotha is really pushing it and if its not, the Charon certainly is.

I wasn't able to tell how many polys it has because it isn't able to be loaded into modelview I don't know why, it loads into fred2 great, and theres no problems in the game.

And then theres the nice Ncount >8000... ouch! from fs2view.

Modelview and fs2view have ridiculously low normal limits. The limit has been increased in the next version of modelview which should come into public distribution soon.

I've got an Alpha of that version and it'll display a heck of alot more normals than the previous version.

I couldn't view the Golgotha at one point with ModelView either.

Quite soon, we're right now testing the final alpha. Beta will be officially released.

And I don't know how Ice got it, either he's also in the alpha team or has just done some serious ass-kissing
