I don't think any sort of comment was implied against me and rather towards Kazan's long fueled dispute with DaveB.
Fine, force me to extrapolate and figure things out for you. If you want to dwell on the simple facts, do so. The reality of that particular design decision OBVIOUSLY revolves around a little more than simple code stability. If they wanted to make it stable they would have, but obviously it was not something they persued. Beam cannons weren't initially stable probably either, heck, nothing ever is in a major gaming engine like that. There are so many painstaking hours that we don't know about spent coding, tweaking, and rebuilding to get things right, and so many of us have the guall to attack that effort.
So before anyone goes around blatantly assuming only the facts that pertain only to their own opinion, consider the other possibilities.
ok, ok, I was just laughing... sorry.
Last i checked icefire all the would have to do is add a flag to the 3D Light's properties to add lens flairs

Sounds so easy doesn't it. We shall see.
atleast if the people that designed D3D were intelligent

Ha. HAHAHA. Ha. Ha. That's the funniest thing I've ever read from here...
They're not intelligegnt, they do what nVIDIA, ATi and others tell them to do (I assume, I can argue about this). They are clever enough to enable a couple of features and make them rather free of bugs, but anyway they must be the most cleverest unit in that way too large company because they managed to get all of those different sets of features actually work together.
Besides, the FS2 engine is just optimal for playing with lens flare (this is my opinion (again)). And what was not seen in FS1 cannot be seen in FS2 either because they had to get out something new after FS1. And fast. So they re-used the old code, added a few new tricks such as beam weapons an nicer backgrounds (both pretty esy to do). Then they said "Hey, we have a new game, come on and buy it!"
. As I have said before all that an American can think of is $$$. Sorry Americans

Humans...
Yes. They are the key.
-Delenn and Kosh, Babylon 5: In the Beginning
Yes, a foolish key... But who cares?
then if the D3D designers [MICROSOFT PROGRAMMERS] were intelligient they should have added lens flairs as just a 3d light-property

Suddenly he farted with a force that no one had seen... And there it was The Big Bang...
What do you mean?
