1, I don't suck. I am an Admiral in the damn game.

2, Weak weapons are better for both the player and the comp. It show's if you have real skill...

3, Spell-check a wee bit more. Atleast I know when I make a typing mistake, I am too lazy to fix it.

Man, using the word 'suck' as a degrogatory word really shows us alot there doesn't it.

This is the second post (in recent memory) where you have gone out of your way to belittle another forum member. This kind of behaviour is not tolerated on the Volition Watch BB. Please refrain from any continued actions.

I don't know what got into me all of a sudden. It might be that I just don't like spammers. They kinda...piss me off. I won't do it again.

Ummm, RKIF-DragonClaw, what does you comment have to do with Snipes?

I hear you Snipes...thats why we've had trouble deciding on new weapons for the GTVA. We had a recent breakthrough for an interesting type of weapon.

i think i agree with snipes on his veiws about wepons, while i do love the kayser and my personal fave is the hydra (derelict) with kayser, two bays of helios, and a bay those missiles that are an improved version of the hornet (can't remember the name for some reason, had pt this morning).

while i agree with your sentiment, i don't follow it for one simple reason. it treat this game as if it were real, i am in the us navy, i know that we use some of the most terrifyingly accurate and deadly weapons known to mankind. this sucks for the other guy, does that mean that i don't use them because they are better? hell no, it means that i work on ways to do it even better. after all, why do you think we are so interested in peace?

i leave you with a quote that accuratly defines war;

"A soldier doesn't win a war by dying for his country, he wins the war by making the other SOB die for his."

as such, talking about all of the unfairnes is one thing, but remember, you people with the little tags under your callsigns are the ones who are designing the missions and the campaigns. so, STOP COMPLAINING, if you think a mission is to easy, then invent some excuse for not making the weapons available. the one were they are being used for another mission that is more urgant than your comes to mind.

Your right, but in FS2, I give the enemy the same guns I have, and see how long I last. This is one way to balance, though I would much rather have a kayser in my bank, and a morningstar in theirs

you know, i was think, you could have a little bit of fun with this weaopns shortage idea in you upcoming campaign. afterall, its not like we think that the tarrans in sol are going to be hostile right?<malicious grin> since the gtva doesn't feel that the terrans are a threat, they might not have made the high end weapons availabe to the first ships going throught gate, as a result, it would put us on a bad footing as we waited for the good stuff to trickle in by way of transport from from the cappellan front (not in cappella, but in the systems connected to the unstable jumpnodes to cappella) it would take a while for freighters though not for the reinforcements. also, most of the stockpiled weapons in the rapid deployment depots and in the reserve forces would have been deployed to the derelict incident. now, while that campaign ended near sol, there would still be a sizable force deployed to that region for patrols for any remnants of shivan forces and for any pirates that were left behind after the anti-piracy sweeps.

Here's the timeline:

2335 - The Great War
2367 - FreeSpace 2
2372 - Warzone followed by Derelict
2375 - BlackWater Operations

So there is a 3 year time span between Derelict and Warzone to BlackWater Operations.

Did you pick excalty 40 years after the great war for any perticular reason?
