Well actually when I redid my GTI Charon (see the post by Setekh for pic.) I renamed it to the GTI Acheron on account of Blackwater Ops calling their cool monster station, the Charon.

Here's a question for them, has the Charon got any guns?

hehehehehehe....I'd take my Pegasus from Tachyon and power slide my way to Earth! hehehehe....Like your guns hit me! Since it cruises with it ion engines at a top speed of 2400KPH, not even a Horus could catch me! Actually I could get all the Tachyon Players who Fly Peggies to do it. We'd show the FreeSpacers up!

Single-Player Tachyon sucks, but Novalogic doesn't make it a pain in the ass to get online like PXO, and you don't have to form a game. You just go in and start fighting, either in a Base War or the Arena(where I normally reside)

Slide as you might...you'll just vaporize on the edge of a beam cannon.

You'd have to slow your speed to engage the subspace drive and use the portal...so.....BZZZT...gone!

hehehehehe Nice Try Icefire, but go check about 150 klicks off "top" side of the Station. There is a Tachyon gate there that you can't see till your about 10 meter from it. Anyways, I wouldn't have to slow down to jump. That is another good thing about Tachyon. If I want to get the F*ck out of there, I get the F*ck out of there.

Yes....intelligence indicates that the Charon is equipped with numerous point defense weapons and a couple of offensive type weapons that draw on the power generated by the subspace coil to inflict massive damage on targets.

The Charon will become the centerpiece of Alliance trade as well as the Alliances last stand battlestation. Its an armed fortress and no-one will be able to invade Sol without taking MASSIVE losses.

Tachyon? Listen, when you slide you are moving in only one direction which makes you a mighty easy target to shoot at. it's like taking on a dragon you take it out from head on make it collide with the trebuchet and it's nothing more than a metallic deposit in space. Furthermore, wouldn't burn up upon entry into the earth's atmosphere?
I've got tachyon so i should know what i'm talking about.

Play freespace 2 then play Starlancer,

Then feel somewhat underwhelmed when playing starlancer. It's that simple, the same goes with tachyon. good game and all but it doesn't have the replayability that freespace 2 has that, and the fact that freespace 2's cap ships are BLOODY HUGE!!!!!

Posted by G-UK on 02-27-2001 05:37 PM:

but then again, Tachyon ships are '****ing huge'... their just armed patheticlly
