You can get the FS2 trailer here: http://www.freespace2.com/downloads.cfm
And Blackwater guys, the BWO trailer was really cool. Well worth the 90 min download, even if I got to bed at 4.30 AM.

Well im new to this bord so yall dont know me from what i have seen of BWO looks cool and i cant what for it to come out. i guess it could be FS3 since Interplay has not deside so far to make anther one. i have e-mail Volition and Interplay they keep on telling me no idiea at this time if they are going to make a FS3. hehehhe oh well.
BWO Looks cool and those rotating portions on both the golgotha and the charon make the ships seem more functional, i think it was wasted on primaraly non-combatant ships in FS1-FS2.
Dynamo is just guessing when we're going to finish the campaign.
Probably before summer rolls around. Next school year is the starting of University for me so I don't want to still have this on my plate.
lol
I don't think anyone will blame you, matey.
Mounty, sorry, typo.:P

In a since if interplay come out with anther game the storys that people have made up will proble not be in FS3 so in fact they would be invalid if there not used in the next game if they ever deside to make anther game if they deside to use the time line that people have made up there are a few differnt time line out there look at Unholy allace, behide emenmy lines those time line are diffrent from the BWO,warzone, darlict. but of corse the people how stared those campian still havent finsh them hehheh so i guess you cant compare to them.

Firstly.....punctuation is A-1 SUPAR.
Anyhow, it's really starting to get to me how everyone seems to feel that the timeline and the nodemap established in Warzone and Derelict have become the de facto follow up to FS2. I realize and wholeheartedly agree that their both excellent campaigns, however, I don't think everyone should be jumping over themselves to try to match up their own versions of the events with those of just a couple people.
Make up your own node map! Explore other possibilities! Live a little!
I'm not trying to direct this at anyone in specific, just the feeling that so many people are following in the footsteps of the BWO people when there's so much more out there!
Anyhow, back to your regularly scheduled updates on BWO. And yes, I am looking forward to this campaign, but only as a fan made campaign. People who make it out to be more (and they exist) just annoy me.
I have to add something in here. I am really looking forward to BWO - and anything that comes out of it. That includes pics, renders, spoilers, and everything. I know by looking at the staff that this is going to be a top-notch fan-made campaign.
It's great to receive praise and credit for pieces of work. Where it's due, naturally, and it normally is. I saw, literally, dozens of posts of praise from all around, proclaiming that this was the l33test thing since sliced bread. I would have understood if it was, knowing who it came from.
I downloaded it, and watched it. Took me about 2 hours to do all of that. I was expecting a lot, given all the praise it received. I was, unfortunately, disappointed.
I haven't watched many trailers... the FS2 one, once, not long ago - the Robotech Total Conversion one by Max Sterling, the Unholy Alliance one by ***** - and the Machina Terra one, by Styxx. I have to say that none of the above (with the exception of the official FS2 trailer) got such a great reception as the BWO trailer. And I feel that they deserved it, maybe even more so than the BWO trailer.
That's what I'm disappointed at - not that the BWO trailer was 'a bit too dark' (which I actually disagree with), or that the 'in-game sequence was too long', but that in a way that it is injustice. Injustice to those who have also made trailers, of equal and occasionally even higher quality, and who have not received the accolades for their work.
I have my criticisms for the BWO trailer, and my praises too, but what I wonder is why only a fraction of you have had the same for all those other trailers out there that are equal or better. Pause and think about that one for a little while.
sorry but i have to agree here the mechana terra trailer especialy did not get enough credit, from the music, to the immotive story telling just worked a lot better and it didnt receive enough praise (poss cause they dont have thier own forums?
The staff of BWO will be the first to agree that there are other people working hard out there and not getting the credit they deserve. I did think that Styxx got plenty of recognition for his trailer. Its one of the reasons why we asked him to help us out. Both trailers were actually too dark and should recieve equal criticism as well as praise. Styxx has some fantastic ideas for his campaign and I've heard some of Dark's ideas for his campaign and I think people will be blown away by them. While both of those people are involved in BWO, its Kellan and myself with Dynamo in the back writing the story. BWO is going to be different than MT and AoD. The important part is that there will be a large number of high quality campaigns to play and draw from.
When it comes down to it for us, were just making campaigns because its a fun hobby to do and we like to tell the story. We love the attention but we also hope that you give everyone a fair chance.
I hope that our node map is useful, I hope that people like our ideas and build their own ideas off of them, but im also not opposed and were certainly not trying to corner the market.

It just seems a lot of people use it as a default one, instead of taking their own interpretation of what could be out there. Hopefully when (and it's not if....yet
) I get my 3D map finished, that'll help out, as people will be able to view the various campaign maps. (I plan on making one for UoW, MT, BWO and any other campaigns that rear their ugly headz.
)
Who care's who's pointing fingers at who? Now if derelect and warzone (and assorted mods and campaigns) are an indication of quality, i've got a feeling that BWO is gonna blow your mind!!!!

Setekh, you are completely right. All of the trailors were good. BWO just got more of the praise because of the:
"It's Coming"
topic, and all of the speculation.
No one really(with the exception of BWO Staff) knew what was coming. So when it came out we were blown away. A whole trailor done secretly and excellently.
Machina Terra was a good trailor, but I would have liked it to be a bit longer.
I have also seen the UA one. The background wasn't bad, but I didn't like the guy's voice. I couldn't understand what he was saying unless I put it up all the way.(Damn speakers.)

Indeed, Blackwater Operations is certain to blow your mind.
What we must keep clear here is that the spirit and the interaction between all the campaign teams is of cooperation, and not of competition. We all want good campaigns, and I had a great time playing both Derelict and Warzone, and both campaigns inspired me to work harder on Machina Terra.
For an instance, I am involved not only in Machina Terra and Blackwater Operations, but also on Temporal Mechanics and the Robotech Mod, and a few others where I've done smaller parts. I want to help all campaigns as much as I can, and my time allows, because they are what's gonna keep this community alive, and despite a few problems and skirmishes lately, we have one hell of a community.
Few gaming communities are so strongly tied together, and enjoy the game this much. It's really a shame that there's no real perspective of a third game being created for the series, but that's only one more reason for us to work harder and better on our own projects.
Everyone has his own idea of what happened after the end of Freespace 2, and we must not limit the possibilities. Machina Terra won't be linked to any other campaigns out there, but this does not mean that it will be a less enjoyable experience. It is great, though, that there's people putting effort on creating a detailed and concise timeline of the events following the destruction of Capella, as was done with Warzone and Derelict, and now Blackwater Operations. But we must not be limited to that.
Imagine, the more possibilities we expose on our own campaigns, the more intrincate and surprising the next one will become, and the more astonishing will be the real story on the event of Volition finally creating the official sequel. Think about that.
