BTW - how do people make smoke/battle damage? I've got lots of "before the fight" pics, but none for after/during...

Those are just normal FS laser pcx's, pasted into the image and then stretched with the 'Distort' function.
Oh yeah, and set the layer they are on to 'Screen'.

Battle damage? Well I usually use the airbrush with light grey as the colour and set it to 'Color Burn'. You then simply work over the area, darkening it till your happy with the results.
