LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and Zeronet, the M16A1 all the way through the M4A1 have the same clips. Those clips can be of many different sizes, but they're all interchangeable. Here in Israel we only put 29 rounds in a clip - less wear-n-tear on the spring.

Just from my knowledge the M16A1 during the days in which the US used it most had 20 rounds. You have any idea of a IFV that looks that a turretless Merkava with a autocannon? I,ve heard the normal ones can carry troops.

I was also under the impression the A1 could go fully automatic, whereas the A2 model is limited to single shot and three-shot burst.

Oh and to be a real tool, they're magazines, not clips. The M1 Garand had clips, and an internal magazine. M16s fire from external magazines feeding into the firing chamber.

Last American rifle that saw mainline service (e.g. not a sniper rifle) that shot 7.62 was the M14, I think.
...I believe it's still in use in special circumstances today.

daveb: You misunderstand completely. I was being highly sarcastic about the whole thing. But if you want to tear off on an anti-anti-gun rant, be my guest. This IS general discussion.

Todd: You don't like orange? What about pink?

Dynamo: Um, I'm like six feet from a cornfield. Not literally, more like two miles, but the point is, I don't know what farmers call them so I make up names...AA-23 seemed to work for me

by the way, that shot of you standing there with an M16 and the VWBB is priceless.

Heh. This place isn't big enough for me to go full-bore into politics I try to avoid it as much as possible because I inevitably end up stewing for the rest of the day.

I prefer my pain to be ladeled out by my PS2 devkit. At least then its sharp and well defined.

Posted by Alphakiller on 04-23-2002 04:45 AM:

Fair enough. For the record, though, I'm not against private firearm ownership - to a point. And we can leave it at that too.

That PS2 devkit pain - yeah, jaggies and polys do hurt! Oooooo, dissin! You gonna take that?!?!

Considering you asked the exact same thing on HLP, I'll post the exact same reply (without the ;7 smileys, unfortunately...):

Oh, you don't mean this, do ya?

Whatevers - the ones we've used so far are semi- and fully-automatic.

You say magazines, I say clips. You say tomato, I say... erm... uh... tomato. Drat!

I'd ask if there's any spcific shot like that you want, but I need to go return my toy now. Oh well.

See y'all in a day or two!

Yeah... amateurs tend to go right past it, even when it's like that.

You know what blows! Windows! [im dual booting right now for the FreeSpace Forever dev]
gar.. i have a 21inch monitor - and i cannot watch the 640x480 movies in FreeSpace 2! Any time DirectDraw/Direct3D puts the monitor into 640x480 -- red internal monitor BIOS screen! Sync out of range! [and windows has the monitor set right]

roger that. what other OS lets you (after some minor hacking) use just as little resources as usual making your own custom styles? Damn i love my pretty XP theme.

You know about this concept known as "on-topic" by any chance?

Yep.. everyone's right. Windows XP ownz. If I wanted to use an operating system like Linux to do every day tasks (non-server functions), I'd move back like 10 years ago (or whatever) and use Windows 3.1. Kazan = moron.
