It might help if you could get somebody to host the file so that everybody can download it at their leisure.

Sorry, I'm not the one with any web space (at all)

Lady Rose has made one that is relevant to TBP. I'm sure that in principle most of the material in the walkthrough has been covered.

There are many users whom have never used Fred2 before but want to make missions for the TBP mod. I had never used Fred2 before making my first mission for the TBP mod and taught myself using the walkthrough, but a more relevant walkthrough for TBP would have been nice.

To other's who doesn't contact me
I said contact me... Well I send it to CptWhite. And take notice it is very simple mission, because I think that I make it for those who doesn't know how to use FRED2.

You have done great work here Lady Rose... it's quite comprehensive and gives a good insight of FRED2's functions.

This is something which should be available from the Babylon Project pages.

Smile a big step for a small check

Is there a line somewhere in that Fred2 guide like:

Make sure you remove the check from Has Shield System for all TBP Fighters. Where? >> Ships Editor >> Initial Status Editor

Doing that would raise mission quality

Yeah, or disable "shields" for the TBP fighters in the Shield Editor. It's not absolutely necessary, but it saves us from having to reduce the shield recharge rate to zero in game.

Posted by Xaphod_x on 02-05-2002 03:12 AM:

the ships have shields subsystems for game balancing purposes. Icefire can explain better.

All fighters have 10 shield points implemented without any visual appearance. That is because we considered damage from shockwaves too large for unshielded fighters, while shields give somewhat reasonable protection against them. The shields are very marginal, they're so vague that they won't trap any weapon energy...just shockwave energy. It is recommended that you leave "Has shield system" ticked.

Posted by Lady Rose on 02-05-2002 01:59 PM:

Well I think you can call them as "Collision Shields". They do not lower any damage from weapons, but lower damage from collision.

Some B5 tech sites mention structural integrity fields. You could consider these shields just that.
