So whats the delay with the patch?

Are we going to get new content with the patch? Maybe Babylon 4 and 5?

As to the delay, while I'm not a member, I am a modder for other games, and I can tell you the most likely answer: Life.

And that answer will be the same one given when we say, "What do you mean 'the project is abandoned'?"

Seriously, does anyone here really expect to be playing release 5, ever? It would be 4+ years from now (at least). I'm sure 2.1 is on the way and all, but I'm not even betting on release 3 making it.

My only hope is that they release whatever they have in the end, rather then just going away.

Hey, i`m the one Mr Fury got hehehe.. And i`ll take his advice, not to take everything I hear so seriously..

Yep this time of the year things will be a little slow, but not to Worry things will be picking up in the next few months, i`m sure the patch will be comming along nicely, despite anything Mr Fury might throw my way.

The B5 staff are doing an excellent job IMHO and are entitled to take breaks, Thus they can come back, laidback ready to roll..
Cheers B5 team.

Well, original question was already answered. Life is the reason why it takes so long to release 2.1.
As for new content, sorry but it only fixes 2.0 and adds a little that was missing in 2.0. That is one(?) mission and new freddocs.

Others will most likely scold me like they usually do, but you're right, there will not most likely be release 3, 4 and 5. The Babylon Project is running it's final straight. Howewer, 2.1 will not be the last release either.

As disappointing as it is to hear that Mr. Fury, it was not completely unexpected. A project of this magnitude is too demanding imo for people working on it part time or sometimes only casually. But you guys have accomplished something truly outstanding with what you've got done.

For what it's worth, I will be content with playing the TC bug free when 2.1 patch comes out and hopefully the ITB campaign in english if it can be finished. I'll see any further releases as a bonus should they ever make it to completion.

I admit I'll be very sad not to see the Warlock fighting a Battlecrab or B5 ingame or seeing a great campaign set during the Civil War or whatever the main campaign would have been. Still thanks Mr. Fury for your honesty, it is very appreciated.

I suppose I'll have to wait for Starshatter's B5 Mod to fight alongside a Warlock and seeing all those awesome B5 Wars ships. But this TC is very dear to me and will always be one of my favorites since it was the first and closest I found to filling the void left by Sierra's Into the Fire's cancellation.

Thanks again for all the hard work and keep the faith.

I suppose if the team was joined by one or more new members that have a renewed enthusiasm, as well as the skills and time to contribute, the project could see a resurgence of progress.

No, I'm not suggesting myself, as while I may have some enthusiasm, I lack both the skill and time to contribute in any appreciable way... sorry.

Later!

Well, if you fans are ready to take over the project when the time comes. I am sure the vets will teach you something, but you will need to have at least fairly good knowledge on whatever you plan to do. Eg. modelling, texturing, fredding, graphics artist and so on.

But I very much doubt that current team members would stay active. More like occasionally helping the new blood from the background...

Blerh, what the hell I am babbling. We'll see how things go.

To the "delay" of the patch I have a little note (because they never said a time for it to come out I don't think of it as a delay for myself) :
The 1.10 patch for Diablo2 LOD has much more delay (yes Blizzard said they would finish it in ...... month (don't remember which month) ) and the people who work on it, are being paid for it!

And I hope that this REALLY GREAT mod will still go on a while at least (whith or whithout new members).
Unfortunately I don't have any skills to offer too, but (like MANY other fans) I will keep on trying to support the team mentally .

Send me money if possible. One semester's books cost one semester's gross pay!!!

To be specifc, there are some funky messaging problems/bug(s) with a mission I'm trying to fix.

As for TBP's future, I hope SCP can do something nice for it.

After re-reading what I wrote, I don't see how you can say I was forgetting something. Hell, I'm aware of that. If this were their full time job, they'd be fired 20 times over by now.

I'm just trying to bring a little reality. And since I'm right and all, you can keep your eye roll to yourself.

For whatever its worth, the staff of the Babylon Project have done a superb job and should be commended for the hours of hard work and dedication that has been put into B5..

I look foward to the next patch and anything released in the future, for as long as it last, and thanks for what you have given to FS2 and me, thanks guys..

Your point was as correct as it was spiteful and redundant. Now write out one thousand times:

I shall not goad TBP team.

(and get your little finger off the CTRL key!)

Unless we were working for 3DRealms. If that were the case, we'd probably be ahead of schedule by now.

Amen! Kazan, you really know how to negotiate
But I agree with you, TBP isn't dead yet and it wont be dead as long as there is people to work for it. Seriously we should let it live as long as possible, its worthy of that.
