i'd really like to fly a nial, with the firepower they seem to have destroying EA ships would be such a breeze

Main reason why there's no missions where you fly a Nial, is that Nial beam effect is terrible when you see it from cockpit.

Just wait until you have real beams, hopefully those will not block your view while firing.

There is one mission that lets you pilot Nial, if I remember correctly it was by Triggy.

havent played through the campaign yet, but do EA forces ever manage to take out a minbari cruiser? (i mean without fusion bombs )

Well, the only EA victory in the whole war was taking out the Black Star with tactical nukes. In the demo campaign, we only see one getting it, when a doomed EA cruiser rams it... That was during the very last stand, if I recall correctly. Didn't we see ramming in the movie ItB as well?

They've have taken out other sharlins but at great cost to the ea fleet.And the nial does look nice firing beams
