and besides, even if Freespace 2 wins by 99% and the rest are 0.2%, 0.4% and 0.4%... chances are Interplay's not going to do anything.

Actually I don't think they're doin' it for fun. See - first they asked which series they should continue - Descent. Now they ask which Descent series game was the best - do I see a connection here

oh i'm done voting, i voted like 2 dozen times, so i'm good

but don't get your hopes up, and don't kid yourself... Interplay isn't going to make a sequel to a game based on what a few people who vote think... they're going to do it based on what game made the most money.

if Freespace2 hardly broke even, they're not going to make a Freespace3 because a couple of people vote for it.

I mean, i hope they do, but i'm not going to get excited for nothing.

Yes, but they also aren't going to post a poll for no reason or post it and dismiss it entirely.

Don't think this will have some purpose or some reason behind it, wether it be a "support forum" on their site or possible revival ideas.

a lot of companies post polls to see what the public thinks. i don't think that a game company that's going out of business is going to risk it making a game whose prequel failed, regardless how many people "vote" for it.

they're not going to make a game where 500 fans will buy it, when they could make a game like Descent 3 where thousands and thousands of people will buy it.

don't go by members... people like you make multiple names on HLP, Volitionwatch, etc. but to help prove your point, there's a lot of other people that aren't members of HLP or volitionwatch that loved FS2... that's a help

And what makes you think, FS3 couldn't be brought by thousands and thousands of people. Need I remind you, FS2 was still capable of delivering 3/4 of what FS1 delivered, with completely non-existing advertising. If properly advertised, they can count at least on the number of fans (ever notice how the peeps in interplay forums seem to support FS2 rather than descent) buying it.

Simply, FS2 is a better game, that's why after all these year it has a more loyal community.
