FSO glow mapping
as part of my SCP stuff I have just made glow mapingavailable for all ships in the game, the zip contains a relese build (performa a little better) a debug build (give debug info back) a warp model (it's a requirement of the new exe) you'll also need the new map pack to get nearly every ship in game glowing like they should be,
note: this is a buggy version and I keep getting assertion failures and stuff but it's cool to just look at some ships in the tech room
oh... this is freespace, I keep forgetting there were other V games and that they are suported here
I have made an update, use the links in the next post for all further updates

I feel wierd asking this, but....
What on Earth are FSO glow maps?

Freespace-Open Glow Maps.
They let parts of the ship glow according to image maps.
At least that's my understanding of what he's done. Screenies would really help my cognitive processes.

Bobboau: A great idea would be to enable a trigger in FRED to turn the glows on or off (same for lights). A derelict, disabled, and dead Fenris wouldn't have powered lights...for instance.

Bob, use those screenies I took - nothing gets you more excited about the scp than the Arcadia under glow maps.

ok I just added sExps for disableing\enableing glowmaps, glow points, and a single glow point bank (havn't tested this last one and it only works for the first 32 glow banks, but you can't have that many so it is somewhat pointless). (doing single texture glowmap disableing/enableing would be far more difucult than it would seem)

and I think I fixed the nebula glow mapping bug, anyway;
deactivate-glow-points, give it the name of a ship to have it's glow points deactivated on
activate-glow-points, give it the name of a ship to have it's glow points activated on
deactivate-glow-maps, give it the name of a ship to have it's glow maps deactivated on
activate-glow-maps, give it the name of a ship to have it's glow maps activated on
deactivate-glow-point-bank, give it the name of a ship and a list of wich glow banks to have deactivated on it

well you can only make it out in a few of them, the effect is a good two to three times brighter in game than the jpgs show

I was inbetween the Lysander and that Ravana when it decided to kill anything that might be inbetween it and it's target, I thought it looked cool/funny so I included it

The slight discontinuity in the warp animation... the warp hole opens, then "blips" to a different stage in the opening process, and then closes again.
And I just noticed that for some reason the warp maps are now all using the Knossos warp effect, not the regular warp effect. Was that your doing or something else?
