-- Poll: Do you care about what happens to your AI copilots while playing FS/FS2? (http://volitionwatch.papageorgefamily/vwbb/showthread.php?threadid=7608)

Question Poll: Do you care about what happens to your AI copilots while playing FS/FS2?

Ahh...just bored. Well, anyway...I'm a tad bit obsessive-compulsive with so many things, and one of those bad habits includes making sure not a single copilot gets killed...and I just can't seem to stand the screams of the ones that get killed. So, do you actually care what happens to your copilots, or not?

When I first started I used to tell all of the damaged ones to warp out. Now if I have like one or two left out of a whole squadron ( Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon ) that are in the red, I tell them to beat it.

I`m a B*****d. I don`t care about my co-pilots much until it comes back to bite me on the arse when they are all dead and the enemy comes after me instead.

That said if I actually SEE an enemy ship targetting one of my wingmen I will go after it.

I kinda do. I try to keep them alive, and if one of the entire squadron is red, I tell it to warp out. Sometimes keeping your wingmen alive can give you more points and respect than returning from a mission alone. And besides, it is easier to counter those bombers with a few wingmen alive than alone.

I try to keep them alive. But it doesn't bother me that much unless it's a guy like Mackie.

I don't mind if they are being killed in the mission but when the mission is completed I order them always back to base (including the support ship).

I used to care for my wingmen, but now I consider them disposable. Cover me. "Yes sir." Disable target. "Right away sir." Attack that Sathanas. "Affirmative." No penalties if you come back alone, and when the mission's done they just float around, don't bother to leave.

Heh, that's pretty much the way I play. Another one bites the dust.

I had a friend who was a FS1 addict and he seemed to be compulsive over ordering his wingmen home whenever one was hurt. He actually made it through most missions with zero friendly losses.

I'd look out more for my wingmen if I had to depend on them more, I think. In TIE Fighter I always assigned my wingmen to the hotkeys (F5, F6, F7, etc.) because you had to cover each other flying those fragile things.

In Tie Fighter survival of wingmens were kind of curcial, if you lost 'em it would also mean your death, so you learned to care about wingmens in Tie Fighter
