Drazi
I know that during the time of the League of Non-alligned Worlds, probably the most powerful member was the Drazi. When the ISA formed, the Drazi seemed to be more powerful than I first thought and apparently seemed capable of taking of the Centauri Republic in combat.
My question therefore is how advanced do you think the Drazi were in 2262? I don't want this to be a vs. thread, merely an analysis of the Drazi Freehold as a whole. There level of development includes their technology, their military strength, the strength of their vessels (do they even have a capital ship class?), their industrial might, etc. I know they have an empire rivalling the Centauri Republic in size (AoG material) but little is said of how powerful the Drazi are as a whole.
Go search, find information, share and debate

Gotta remember, every six years (?) they have themselves a friendly little civil war. If somebody attacked them during that, I'd say they're screwed.

Actually...probably if anyone attacked during that time, they'd be twice as dangerous.
I doubt the Drazi are anywhere near the size of the Centauri Republic. No, not a chance. Technology wise, the Drazi are fairly advanced and I think a few sources put them on par with the Earth Alliance just before the formation of the ISA (which benefitted the Earth Alliance right off the bat). Now, the Drazi Freehold's biggest problem was the Centauri stifling them. While Earth was far enough away not to be of direct interest to the Centauri, the Drazi were too close and as a result, the Drazi were not able to progress their little empire as well as they could have minus the Centauri. On the other hand, the reason the Drazi are as advanced as they are probably comes by the same reason the Narn have as much technology. They aquired it from the Centauri by one means or another.
The Drazi fleet at the time of Season 5 had no major capital ships. The Sunhawk is their largest ship and while its no WhiteStar, it is roughly in the same size class and it does carry a fair amount of firepower. The Sky Serpent is not a great fighter, but it can take alot of punishment. And that was the idea, a fighter that can last in combat against the faster and more agile Sentri. Basically, in a drawn out dogfight, the Sentri would loose against the Sky Serpent because of that durability....but Centauri pilots are skilled and work in numbers so provided the Centauri hit hard and fast, they are ok. Linger in combat with the Drazi and its another matter.

They wouldn't have any centralized command structure to counter a large sacle invasion. But I tend to think the Drazi would excel at guerila warfare.
In general I think the Drazi are not as agressive as everyone thinks they are. If you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone. This is both militaarily and socialy. Except of course when they have some thing to gain. Due to their proximity to the Centauri the Drazi fleet is essentially a defense force, built arround smaller capital ships, able to manuver to avoid th big guns of larger Centauri cap ships. Icefire already mentioned the fighters.
One could argue that the effectiveness of ships like the Sunhawk against larger vessels compelled the Centauri to use their technology to produce a cruiser of similar power, with the benefit of higher technology. The Vorchan. (do NOT make this Sunhawk vs. Vorchan, I was merely floating an idea)
If the Drazi were able to incorporate jump drives into existing, or new classes of ship they would definitly be able to project more power, but outside of trade, I don't see why they would want to.

Drazi arent as rich as the major races, yet they share borders with a lot of them and have to defend themselves, so the most cost-effective method is to build Sunhawks. say 3-5 sunhawks would match an average capital ship, wheras the sunhawks are probably much cheaper to maintain... given the time to prosper, the Drazi would no doublt come out with a capital ship of their own... a model I am working on... so back off! dont any you try to designa Drazi cap ship! my idea! patent! trademark!

IceFire pretty much said all the facts and some non-canon info as well (which is the most logical conclusion).
But, Drazi can equip SunHawks with jump generators, but standard loadout does not include them cause they are mostly unneeded in defensive tactics. Keep in mind that Drazi have two types of SunHawks, older and newer which probably has jump generator as standard loadout and a bit more effective weapons.
The ships can carry on one fighter at time...
That is why we will include a Drazi carrier for my Drazi campaign which will be official campaign. And when this campaign will be released? I say in the fullness of time and shuddup on this matter.

AoG has some sources we can draw on for the Drazi. In any case, they do need to have another ship probably. They seem to be a favorite. The Brakiri will probably get a fighter and I think the Vree will stay about the same. I rather like not all sides having fighters.

I don't know if the Nightfalcon/Stormfalcon would be heavy enough to carry as many fighters as you desire (3 Sky Serpents/1 Sky Serpent respectively, plus 12 light fighters each) so a new carrier class vessel may need to be designed by the team. I don't know if I would think this a good idea per se as one of the Drazi characteristics is a lack of fighter numbers, with the few they have being a lot harder to kill. Perhaps with the advent of ISA membership they may develop such a heavy carrier, who knows?

the team already said they'll only use canon designs and if they need other ships they'll look to Agents of Gaming (the Tempest probably being the ony exception...
and since Fighters are the main theme, if they ever design their own ship, it'll be a fighter... like a brakiri fighter... OOOH, I want more fighters!

We may design a few of our own ships if time permits and the need is there. This need may be facilitated by the Drazi...and the Brakiri. But we shall see.
This is a mostly canon MOD, but we'll throw in the odd extra. The Tempest is well accepted and so are a few others.

yeah, the minbari platform is also semi-semi-canon: I did a good job making the version seen in the promo shots for ITF.. then everyone thought it looked cr@p and I did an extensive texture overhaul, adding lots more anti-fighter weapons.
