Question The Whitestar

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the new whitestar doesn't look any better than the one in the unofficial ship pack? I mean, I can't see any difference between the 2, except for that one texture bug.

So as some member of the team(was it CptWhite?) posted on HLO, are you pushing perfection too far?

Don't get mad, just a question.

So far I haven't seen the ship pack, but I think the Whitestar will always be a great ship. I mean, its just such a cool thing to model!

Have you checked the screenshots section lately?

This one is from the unofficial ship pack.

This is our beta Whitestar, it is not final.

Ok, now I can see a small difference in the textures, but I don't say it looks automatically better. The TBP:s model looks, umm.... organic?

I know the WS is supposed to, but it still looks a bit strange.

Pera, pera... I said that WS is beta.
Model and textures will be better... soon.

As everyone has been saying from the team, this WhiteStar varient is unoptomized, and is going to be used for beta testing purposes only.

We showed you pictures because we thought you'd appreciate seeing some work in progress (WIP)....but as usual, WIP gets translated into FINAL and everyone goes on a rant about this that and the other.

So, that is for testing purposes only. The textures will be better, the model will improve, and it will be better than the one from the unofficial pack because it will be very highly detailed at the lowest possible poly count.

Compair this WhiteStar with the first Aurora model we had.

Hey, I think I have the right to think that most of the work and time you spend on a model is barely noticeable, and therefore useless.

But then again, your mod, do whatever you like

To get this thread cheerful again may I say that I think your current Whitestar looks great and I'm sure that you'll come up with some good compromises that retain playability and looks, whilst making the ship low poly and realistic

p.s. May I say thanks CptWhite for using screenshots from my Civil War mission in the Screenshots page.

So if my opinion is against yours, it's stupid and ingnorant. Seriously, the one that you have right now looks good enough, the one that's in the unofficial pack looks good enough. I think you're using too much time working on meaningless details, period.

And that "your mod", part meant that you're the ones who are putting time on this mod, so do it any way you like, just don't get angry about criticism.
