Interview with Manny Garcia
This time we have Manny Garcia, from... wherever. He is the great writer of the fabulous "Beyond our Limits". We're going to grill him hard right now...

Dood... How's it hangin'?

I'm hung. It's great!!

So, you're fabulous fiction, Beyond our Limits, will soon be hosted by Planet FreeSpace (which, admittedly, we're having some problems with). Do we scare you at all?

Not at all man. Good things come to those who wait. I think being hosted by PFS is gonna be a big break for me. My audience will definitely grow from this.

Now, you know the whole chicken thing, they're evil, aren't they?

Beware of the chickens... mmmmmmm..chicken..arghghghghhghh

If you could just, smack the crap out of anyone that works out at Volition for no reason at all, who would it be?

I wouldn't just hit one person... I'd hit all of them. I'd take pitchfork and beat them senseless.

Beyond our Limits - where'd the inspiration come from?

I'd have to say that the inspiration came from a few certain places. First of all, I can remember reading the very first episode of LFTS. I thought to myself, "that's pretty damn awesome!!!" The way it was written, it's content, all of it had some incredible stuff. I figured that maybe I can take a crack at it. Then, the actual idea came. I was sitting in class one day, bored out my demented mind, when all of a sudden, WHAM! It hit me, "Beyond Our Limits." The idea of a society that had conquered the Shivans in an alliance so powerful, so influential, that other species feared us. That's what I thought to be pretty damn cool. I don't know if anybody realizes it, but I'm pretty sure I was the first person, EVER to mention the "GTVA." When BOL first debuted, the freespace 2 site wasn't even up yet. But I'm not so sure about that, so don't go on and say that the idea came from me. Anyway... The final product of "Beyond Our Limits" actually came from a combination of just weird ideas I came up with. Nothing really special other than constantly thinking to myself, "Man, that would be really cool to write about."

How much of BOL is written? Is the whole thing done and you're just releasing it in parts and stuff?

BOL is pretty much written in a brainstorming fashion. I guess you can say that I write as I go. I just always remember that there has to be a linear plot with connectivity.

When you first started BOL, where did you want to go with the whole story?

To tell you the truth, I never really wanted to go anywhere with my story. I just wanted to write and have people read my story. I figure, the bigger the audience, the better. Like I always say, "I just want to write."

If you could go back and change one thing in the whole story, what would it be?

Absolutely nothing. Enough said.

Would you feel better if I let you beat up IceFire?

Nah...IceFire's hung..

How would you know?

Damn...I hate it when things backfire like that.

How do you feel about other stories that are also based on Freespace?

Well, I have to say that there's some really incredible fiction out there. We're all familiar with the LFTS Saga, Masquerade, Phantom, etc... I think that all those other stories are beyond our imaginations and deserve the attention of the entire freespace community.
For those authors who are only starting on their stories, you know, like those stories up on DC's fan fic page, they deserve attention too. This is a game that we all love and should be out there reading and exploring the worlds that the authors have come up with.

Now that the first chapter of "Beyond Our Limits" is finished, what are your plans for the future of the story?

"BOL: Search for Colony." There it is. I have just debuted the name of the second chapter in BOL. I've already written part 1 and part 2 of the prologue to the story, so you should watch closely as the debut day for it gets nearer and nearer. But of course, the date might be subject to change since PFS is having a hard time putting my site up. I do plan on releasing a poster for the story before I release the prologue, so watch out for that first. Trust me, the poster will definitely get your attention.

Wow! "BOL: Search for Colony" sounds like it's going to have a lot of hype behind it, are you excited?

Of course!!! Listen man, as soon as everybody sees the freakin poster, people are gonna start asking questions. Believe me, I'm hung.

So there you have it. "BOL: Search for Colony" has been announced. BOL will soon be hosted by PFS and a very controversial poster will be released. After all this the prologue and the actual story will also be released. I can't wait. Thanks for your time Manny.

No problem man...anytime.

Thanks again Manny!
