I want to help

Greetings,

I have been interested in this MOD for over a year now. I keep checking up on it every now and again. And if I could be of any help to Babylon Project, please let me know. I have recently learned 3-D Model Rendering at College(and yes I got a good grade, 4.0) and might be able to help as a modler or texturer. I had to make many Textures for many of my projects, and if you would like me to email you some of my works (about 10) I will. I used the program Infini-D (Mac program) which I still might be able to have access to. I also have just downloaded Blender, and have a copy of Studio Max Version 2.5 lying around somewhere(need to figure out a few more tricks with texturing and what not with that one). So if I can be of any service let me know. drphear@hotmail.com

-Krytor
PS: on a side note: Seether, one more American trying to join the ranks.

AMERICANS UNITE! =)... You have ICQ or aim or something of the sort? We mostly use Truespace with Photoshop (well they do, I haven't tried texturing yet although tomcat says i should be able to do it).

I'm portuguese I dont know Why there arent more of us around here, after all we are one of the world most vicious Virus makers
Relax baby I'm prety harmless...
Well back to the MOD, I also plan to help but only as a freelancer helper, I dont like to give any garauntees (spelled correctly?? )to avoid let anyone to be disapointed about me.
I'm learning to texture, soon will learn to model and when my exams are over I'll dedicate myself fully to this project (or at least hope to be sucessfull at this endeavour)
If The project is still alive By this years fall I'll get my hands on a 3D model program named Ansys, I will need it for my studies as well.I dont know this program yet but it apears to be quite powerfull, plus I'll be obligated to learn it if I want to pass the exam.

At this point we have to use Truespace because its the only rendering/modeling package that will translate over to FreeSpace 2 POF format. At least at the moment.

There is talk about a 3DStudioMax converter in the somewhere near future.

If you can lend a hand texturing ships, then we definately need you. Another North American type is nice...I'm Canadian and even just counting North Americans on here, were the minority.

Go Europe!

Seether, my IM name is usually DocPhear, and as for Truespace, anyone know where one might acquire it? If it's around $200 I may buy it, but would prefer to use other channels And is there anything else I could do?

Oh and I also have photoshop too. So if that can be used to help making textures, I could use that, though I'm not quite sure how.

We Finns seem to be a majority here

Well, at least a large minority.

BTW. I presonally don't think trueSpace is worth the CD it's copied on, but some people seem to like it and in FS2 modding you pretty much have to use it at some point.

*waves* Im the insane programmer who does all the dirty work of programmer.. don't mind my mad ravings

Can you handle TrueSpace? You will have to until i get the 3DS converter going [which will take a LOT less time than it took to get the COB converter going, about 2/3 the code is 'common']

Conversions end up being pretty messy to the converter and causes more problems and takes more time than if the model was just to be built from scratch.

Don't even think we can take the high poly Lightwave and 3DS models people have done out there and put it in game. Thats just not possible.

Right who will save you from a cowboy like President that wasnt even elected, was presssed into service? Of all the crazyness you guys did this one beats them all
But I guess yor right America did play a crucial role during WW2, Gulf war and Kosovo, no matter what real interests were behind those interventions they had to be done anyway.

BUT NOW ITS EUROPEs TURN TO BECOME A MILITARY SUPERPOWER!!! muhahahahahaha

For everytime that an American says that they saved everyones behinds during WW2, there is the notion that except for their president, the majority of the nation refused to become involved in European problems until Pearl Harbor happened.

Intelligence knew about the attack on Pearl Harbor. They had to let it happen otherwise it would take another year or two to get the United States involved, and longer to get the industrial machine moving.

Nothing is or was what it appears to have been. Desperate times called for desperate measures.
