If you were in command

this probably stupid topic but what the hell, if you where in command of an omega and were at war with the minbari wot would u do if you came across a lone Sharlin? me i would launch all my starfurys and thunderbolts and use them as to distract the sharlin will the omega goes to the side of the sharlin and opens fire with everthing and wouldn't stop cause the side seems to be the Sharlins main weakness as in its not really defended, hell i would most likely get wasted but i reckon the Sharlin would be heavily damaged.

If I was in an Omega and I came across a lone Sharlin I would:

a.) run away, very quickly.
b.) try and lure it into an asteroid field mined with nukes...
c.) call for reinforcements and try a head on engagement
d.) do what Apothess said and hope for the best.
e.) do what Apothess said and after getting beat up ram the Sharlin, Churchill style.

OK but what if your jump engines where offline? me i would go down figthing, but its not just down to the ship its how you command it, just because its more advanced doesn't really mean that you can't win?

Well, there's always what Sheridan did with the Black Star. I'd definitely try and flank the sucker, because I don't think the war cruiser's rear armaments are as lethal as its forward guns (that's not saying much, though). Assuming the Omega survived the flanking manuver, I'd try and disable its propulsion system. With the Sharlin a sitting duck, I'd proceed to pick it apart piecemeal, hopefully with the assistance of friendly capships, but if not, I could always just order my beams to fire away, or attach a nuke to the its hull and press the magic button.

Again, it really depends on the circumstances. Can we call in reinforcements? Can we lure it into a nebula? Are nukes available? If you can't match the ship in terms of technology or firepower, then you may have to depend on your environment for help.

Ok you've got 1 nuke but no asteroid field but there is a small neb so in that case i would lure the sharlin into the neb hoping it follows me in and since i would have a head start i would put the nuke in a starfury and make it look fly it into the sharlin just as its about to go in hoping that it can't detect it in the neb and if that dosen't work go back to my orig idea in flanking it.

Why would u want to use a Nova they stood no chance against the minbari cos they were sluggish and slow the Omegas are a bit more manouverable and te weapons are better! and the fact that the omega is just the best ship ever dunno why though?

Doesn't matter if you're in a Nova or an Omega, they both don't stand a chance, even if you have 1 nuke ....

i would do my very best to take out the gravimetric engine as that is the only weakness?
Then try and take it out or alert earth command so in case i die they can finish it off.

Well, if I have to fight (if there's no other option) I would try to shoot of the 2 fins (?) at the back (grav drive), but the Omega's weapons wouldn't probably even penetrate the armor, so I think the Omega would go down pretty fast.

Ramming a Sharlin might work. ITB showed a Nova dreadnaught plowing bow first into one of those war cruisers and doing some significant damage, although I don't remember if the Minbari ship was destroyed. Also, in the book, it said that the Minbari war cruiser that got rammed was already damaged.

So here's a new anti-Sharlin strategy: Build a ship with outrageously heavy armor plating all around except for the back, install a 6-pack of supergrade fusion drives, add a reinforced razor-sharp wedge to the bow, and use liberally as a battering ram.

Prohibitively expensive? Probably. Suicidal? Most definitely. Extremely fun? Absolutely.

heavy armor = 1000,000 creds
supercharged engines = 200,000 creds
seeing the look on the enemies face as you ram the ship into their pretty little ship = priceless
