Hi Krytor I suggest you start by using skullars texturing tutorial

Download these files:

download all the files (the new txt files replaces the old one in the rar file. If you dont have WinRAR (its like winZIP) then download the .exe file to install winRAR. This rar file has everything you need to start learning including textures and a model to put them on good luck

and have a go at texturing simple shapes so you get the basic idea of how texturing works.
