Off the MOD subject, but B5 relevant...
Does anyone have any ifnormation where one could find and purchase all the episodes on video? Or have the demons at WB and others yet again denied the devoted fans of the greatest Sci-Fi television epic ever created the satisfaction of having something to call thier own? Otherwise I guess I'll be buying lots of blank tape for the upcoming rerun of the show on the scifi channel. Thanks

I've heard that they are supposed to start releasing dvds sometime in the fall, starting with In the Beginning and The Gathering. Not sure if it's correct, but many people on an irc channel seem to think it is.
I've seen them over here, but also I'm not sure if they have all of them available here. I know sometimes they are in boxed sets and sometimes not. I also have never seen all the episodes together at once which is what i'd really like. Or maybe an alternate would be if anyone knew the names of all the episodes or where I could find such a list...?

Any idea, when they will be released?

HAMLET RULEZ!!
In the beginning and the gathering were supposed to be released on dvd in august, but they were pushed back to around christmas i think. However, last I heard they weren't going to be widescreen (like the ones sci-fi airs) but since sci-fi has already done widescreen masters they should hopefully be in widescreen.
Yeah... Me waiting too them to DVD!

I've just bought the box set of Crusade
having nowwatched it i can easily understandit being cancelled and i wonder why they didn't cansel it earlier. The only episode of it i like (slightly) is the very last episode where the Drakh Mothership is in

That episode was good... But the Drakh mothership was one of the worst ideas in the whole series...
Actually....Crusade was quite quite good despite the meddeling from TNT.
Some say it was the music that was bad, although I think that was just lack of adaptability to other styles, some say it was the acting, but characters like Gideon and Galen were fantastic as far as I was concerned. The only problem was maybe the sets were kind of low budget...but the story was good...despite JMS being run down at the time.

I agree......
I agree that the Crusade series had potential. Gideon and the actor who played him are great. I especially liked Galen as well. There needed to be more of the Technomages in the original i felt. Anyway Crusade was a terrible tragedy caused by the meddling minds of greedy Network executives who didn't know the first thing about good story telling or good sci-fi television. Unfortunately JMS didn't have the funds to go on out on his own. I sometimes wonder why Lucas could do it based on the strength of the story he had to tell and the dedication of the fans, but JMS can't. I think it's because of the limitations of TV. We could never have as great a story on the big screen though either. What irony.

If it had continued it would of got better.
Like with B5 it started of crap, but close to the end of the season it started to get a lot better. I can see this with the last episode of crusade and the storylines for the ones which wern't made.
I blame the badness of crusade on the director and the music, like when there was a battle there was this music which almost put u to sleep. And i think most of the actors were quite good, but the very cheesy music and bad directing made them appear to be crap actors sometimes.

. The music was cool though. As was the music Evan Chen did for Call to Arms. Even if it does take a little getting used to, and can occasionally be just a tad creepy.
The problem with the music was the nobody seemed to like Evan Chen's style...which I considered brilliant as well as new and different.
He was, like when Christopher Franke started, getting into the swing of things when the series was stopped. Now as far as the battle scenes, Chen did some very different stuff compaired to what Christopher Franke did. I liked the different approach, but I can also see why Christopher Frankes music was more appealing.
I'm glad JMS took a risk with Crusade on the music....and im equally glad that Franke is doing the music for Legend of the Rangers.

if i had to sum up both styles in one word
Chirstopher Franke : Adrenaline (like just before the firing starts in severed dreams, i repeat do not fire first, we wont start this fight but by god we'll finish it - the bit after that)
Even Chen : Suspense (i feel he let the cgi do the talking)
I definately prefer christopher franke's work.....a battle sequence is supposed to be exciting, and i feel his music suited better, especially for our mod......although both styles can be used effectively in variously situations.

Crap!!! I cant find any episodes on tape over here...
is it limited to certain world regions?
What tv system do u use, NTSC, PAL etc, cos it can be easily ordered in other countries close to u with cheap delivery. The only problem for u is it will be in english

Better in english than anything else... I like original versions better. Translated versions always sound strange particulary when they say some gags or expressions that dont have equivalent in my language such as " well thats a load of horse hockey". hearing the actors true voice is Nice.
LOL imagine it translated to spanish, it would sound like a mexican space novel "IVANOVA: Ai Ai Ai este Lumati muchacho me há molestadoo!!!" or even tranlsated to bablefish!!!
U will be able to order b5 videos from these sites
hmv.vo.uk from here u can get boxed sets of each season for £80 and delivery is dependant on weight but at a guess £7
mvc.co.uk from here u can get cheaper single videos from £12 Air Mail Fast 3 - 5 £1.25 (+ £0.60 per item)
The first is cheaper for the boxed sets but the second is cheaper for individual videos, i have ordered from both and they are reliable but if the itemis out of stock it could take a few weeks for them to send it
Oh and they are in PAL format as well
