Red faction demo

ok folks, considering I am on a modem, is it worth me getting?

The single player and multiplayer demo are both large sizes. Espically if you have a modem. If you have intrest in Red Faction then the Single Player demo is definately worth it. You need to play the demo to understand how cool the Geo-Mod technonlgy is. If your a fan then go for it.

YES IT IS WORTH IT.

*ahem* but since you're on "puny, wimpy, girlie dialup", I would not suggest getting and trying the multiplayer demo if you were planning to try RF online. Diaulup just does not cut it for Online play. Unless you get 115200+ kbps constantly on your 56k connection (which i doubt). But yes, the Red Faction demo, is in fact worth it.

And after you finish the first couple of levels, you can, in fact, start modifying the weapons and guns and such.

You won't be missing much by skipping over the first demo (128 megs) and just going for the multiplayer one (45 megs). On a 56k I thought that Red Faction handled internet play really well, just be sure you're connecting to a decent server.

RF multiplayer runs extremely smooth on my system, even the Champaign server [V] runs ran great.

...and I'm running on a 56k suffering from mondo-lag in most games....

Glasshouse level - try destroying the floor underneath the glass house (hover hover)

Training - when told about unbreakable glass, try breaking it with the rocket launcher in the next room (hover hover)

WAIT for the full version of red faction to come out,then by it.

ive got to withdrawl out a ****load of money to get more memory,but its worth it.Im also doing it so i can get games like Mechcommander2,all the Mechwarrior1234etc,and other kewl games.

126 RAM should do it.

why not 128? PCs seem to prefer numbers in the
1 2 4 8 16 32 64 128 256 512 1024 set. (Xaphod_x failed to roll under his maths skill and therefore couldn't remember what that number chain was called)

Uh, binary? It is multiples of two the entire way.

126 is an impossibility, by the way, unless you have one 64MB stick, one 32MB stick, one 16MB stick, and 14 1MB sticks. Which is a total of 17 RAM sticks, which is, uh, impossible. Or if it isn't, I want to see a motherboard with 17 SIMM or DIMM slots.

BTW, I reccomend 768MB RAM, since I've got it and RF flies

yea well the red faction demo would be advisable to buy if your a big fat show off and want to show all your friends your rollin in money and want them to go green with envy and be over ur house all the time.

thats what happened to me when i got FS2 and my friends couldn't find it.l
