Proper beamglow

Okay...something that is actually serious for once!

How do I get my ships to have the correct surface beamglow?

I've made violet beams, but the ship still goes green when it's firing. How do I correct this?

What you have to do is create a new Beam weapon in the weapons table. In this new table entery, instead of using the green map file, change it to where it uses your violet map file. Also, you have to change the ship beam weapon too...

As you can see from the top pic, everything is good.....until you look at the surface glow on the Iceni in the left-hand side.

If you go into the weapons.tbl where you specified the beam itself, there's a section there for the RGB color. I think its called "laser RGB" or something like that. You'll find that its probably something like

0 255 0

Change it to violet and you're good to go.

Like it? I got the MOD pack for them all up and running.

It also includes the lemon-yellow ZapperVas, the worst thing to happen to fighters since you ran into the BFRed! Not to mention modifications for all the Vasudan ships that give them Vasudan-golden AAA beams.
