Size of the VPK
According to some people the VPK is only about 45-60Km in size. I just watched The Summoning yesterday and that size is way off! The Dreadnaudhts were very very tiny in comparison, and there 1300m long. my estimate is at least 150Km in size. anyone else have an idea of the size?

But as for my opinion, we should use the size that was mentioned by Marcus, 3-4 miles across, or about 7 km. I'm not going to argue if that is the "real" size, but it would make sense to put it in the mod.
But 150km? No way in hell
And oh, the Vorlon dreadnought is about 1700 meters, not 1300.

Dreadnought is 1300 meters long.
And our VPK will be big enough...

Once again we have a person here who things that size matters the most... look at the WhiteStars...
Besides... Vorlon fighters alone are more than a threat for Omega...

No, my point was, that in the show the Dreadnought looks even bigger than an omega, so I simply can't understand how could it be so much smaller than it.

Sadly I don't have any of these episodes on my hdd where you can see Vorlon dreadnought. But if I remember correctly, it doesn't look all that big. Dreadnought has a sturdy profile though.

In "interludes and examinations" it was bigger then those battlecrabs. Now you could probably say that they were "small" battlecrabs, but all of them? I don't think so.

It's true... Dreadnought is 1300 metres long... I got the official JMS (Warner Bros) reference disk... There's not much on it, but this is...

Maybe... But it's not the only source for the size of the Dreadnought... 1300 meters is correct...

1) Looks can be decieving. You have no idea how much perspective can alter your sense of scale.
2) "Official" documents can be wrong.
3) The VPK will be big enough
4) Size matters not, the Vorlon Dreadnought is probably shorter than the Omega, but who really cares....its wider and it can take on a sizeable number of Omega's in return.

I'm pretty sure they could make the VPK a quarter the size it is, and it would still be damn impressive ingame. Big enough considering you would probably not be able to get close enough... I get the impression it would be well defended against puny Starfuries.
And I just found out that one of the guys on TBP staff goes to the same university as me... bloody small world.

Whoever he is, better watch your words. You don't want to say anything important "accidentally"...

I also think that the 3-4 mile figure if not being more sensible, it is certainly one of the few figures actually usable for a model in the mod. Now I can come up with many explanations for why the images seen in 'The Summoning' do not apear to be correct, such as;
CGI error
The ships being Light Cruisers (see AoG), not Heavy Cruisers
Perspective being deceptive (especially in hyperspace)
People also forget that the VPK was seen in perspective in 'Into the Fire', and compared to the First Ones' beams, 3-4 miles looks generous.
This is not to kick up a fuss, just saying that there are many reasons for this one CGI scene not being totally accurate (although it may be) so don't take anything for granted. 3-4 miles would work best in the mod, as for it's "real" size, who knows?

Which is several kilometers....so FS2 can more than support it. Styxx's Apoc is 20km long.

I think the VPK is more detailed than the apoc, not 100% sure though...
