PS2 IGN also posted an interview, with Jason Scott, in what they claim is a week long party of daily Summoner festivities. Here's a snip:

IGNPS2: How does this game’s story differ from say, a story in Final Fantasy, Lunar, or Chrono Cross? Is it truly a Western story?

Jason: Because I’m not as familiar with console RPGs as I probably should be, I went looking for Sandeep Shekar, our lead designer. Coincidentally, he
was playing Chrono Cross in the conference room. He said, "There’s no comparison," and Baranec added, "Yeah, there’s no comparison." So I guess that's your answer.

I should probably have taken the fifth on this one.

The whole interview is hilarious, and should be read by everyone except Remora, because he's a big hippy. Wait, he already read it. Oh well. Check it.
